Alberta Environment and Parks require industry to participate in the regional monitoring of ambient (outdoor) air quality, as a condition of being able to operate. This includes participating on the Board and technical committees of the local air monitoring society.

In our case, we are largely funded by local industry via the Northeast Capital Industrial Association. Other funding comes from the provincial and federal governments. Special projects are often funded by third parties for a limited time. For example, North West Redwater Partnership funded the construction and first year of operation of our new Gibbons monitoring station. We also receive funding from Alberta’s Industrial Heartland Association for communications projects and activities.
